The active e-mail links in my site are useful to my clientele but attract
lots of spam. If I put my employee directory in pdf instead, will this help?
I researched old posts on this board and found that Google can search
through pdf pages now, but I'm not sure if this answers my question.
Thanks in advance--this group has helped me tremendously in the past! -- Mir

Since it is possible for Google to read PDF, then it is possible for email spam bot to also read
them.

I just tried it and in Internet Explorer it gets blocked and provides
a risk warning. Not sure this is what you want to have happen if
someone is trying to contact you ---

If you're viewing the page with that script locally (from your hard drive),
you will get the warning; if you view it on the site (http:) then that
message will not show.

Anything that Google can read, any other bot (good or bad)
will be able to shortly if not already
PDFs used to be safe, but not no longer
Javascripts are considered safe, but there has been a demand
for the bots to learn to read them by developers of
navigation menus

Best thing to do is to use a form and server side script for
email

It only does that in local - lots of files do that in local.
