Help! I rebooted my PDC W2K - Mixed mode environment.
Now the system is stuck at the splash screen not doing
anything. It seems like it is trying to do something as
the "progress bar" is moving. I had not installed or
changed anything prior to this reboot. I tried various
options at the F8 prompt and still nothing. Any
suggestions?

I had the same situation. Mine was when I installed a new driver for the
SCSI controller or service pack. The real cause was the Hard Drive was
going bad. You might check if the HD is on its way out. BTW what kind of
server do you have. You can try an in repair and see if that can fix your
problem. It has proven successful many times over for me. Before it goes
totally feet up you might be able to take a ghost image of it and transfer
it to another HD.

You neither install nor changed ANY settings since the last successful
boot?

This is highly unlikely (but possible) so you might want to try a power off
(if you haven't) and then proceed to the CD-ROM and attempt a repair
(after you create a good backup).

Did you just install SP4? If so, is your domain a single label domain name?
Are you using just your DNS server and no external DNS servers?
Be helpful if you remember what you last did before restarting it.
