I'm looking at buying a new PDA, or PalmTop, to replace my Sony Ericsson P900.

There are so many reviews with conflicting results out there, so I thought I would throw the question open to the trusty crowd at PC Review to see what you could suggest.

I mainly want something small but it has to have the ability to hold a fairly large volume of data, particularly a quite sizeable Outlook PST file, currently about 200MB. Also, the ability to use the cutdown version of office software would be advantageous. :thumb:

Connectivity via my existing BlueTooth technology would be good, so as to enable GSM / GPRS links via my BlueTooth mobile. :thumb:

So what do you reckon people - any suggestions most welcomed, but if you are advocating a particular model, perhaps you could add some justification, not just "my sister's boyfriend's mother's cousin's neighbour has one, and they said it's great!" Constructive criticism will assist in analysis of the individual benefits of each machine. :p

Cheers in advance for your help.

CI :)

Well i can't comment on a particular model, but all the guys at work are buying the new Dell axim 51v they all say it the nuts and wouldn't look anywhere else.

I don't own a Pda so personally i can't give you a rundown....But the guys at work know what there talking about when it comes to these things...;)

I had bought the Acer N30 a while back which is basically gathering dust! :D After having bought that I came across the new Palm TX which I thought was great in terms of what it offered at the price point. I also read at many places that it was the best Palm ever. Take a look at it and see if it meets your needs.

Unfortunately my sister's boyfriend's mother's cousin's neighbour doesn't have one, in fact, I don't even have a sister to start with!

my sis got an HP H6340, its got every wireless connection and doubles as a phone if you want, i'm not sure on the software but i know it has word, excel, WMP, messenger and IE

the only problem that i had to fix was to do with the wireless not working and that was sorted with a ROM update

Cheers all, feedback much appreciated.

Just found some information on iPaq hx4700 so looks like I have got some reading whilst I am watching the Grand Prix video this afternoon.

Thanks again, CI

They have the HP H6340 were i work, they are fine but not very good for a signal near a lot of computers or in confined spaces! Only downside is that it's quiet bulky but seems to do the business.
