Hi all,
Just bought a new Mesh PC and have transferred my existing Pinnacle
PCTV Rave TV card (purchased xmas 2002) onto it.

Doesn't work. Did - on old system, WinME / DX8 / CRT monitor /
Geforce2

Trawled the newsgroups who advised to download a patch, PCTVI402a.
advice seems to be install card onto clean XP build, let the XP new
hardware wizard find drivers on the CD. Reboot. Run the PCTVI402a
patch. Reboot. Run the PCTV Assistant which will perform a series of
tests. It does but it fails the Direct Draw overlay test "whether your
system is capable of generating a TV picture"

Tried several install methods, rolling back to a clean Ghost image
each time in case of orphan drivers etc.

Any ideas?

Athlon 2600, 512Mb RAM.
I have DirectX9. Direct draw passes DXdiag tests.
The direct draw driver is 5.03.00.900
Graphics = Radeon 9600 Pro
TFT monitor on a DVI cable - poss the reason?

To be honest I've had it with Pinnacle. The webtext feature of this
card never worked properly (PAL/PAL1 issues). The newsgroups are full
of tales of woe relating to Pinnacle. Their tech support is a waste of
time.

Yeah Ive read their forums filled with exasperated consumers. However,
I also had hairpulling problems for ages. In fact after I bought my
card an older Studio Pro I didnt use it for almost a year because of
the drivers were so wonky. Theyve since comeout with several versions.

Now are you using the USB version or the PCI version?
When I was searching for drivers I think the PC rave and the drivers I
use were interchangeable.

If they are try the newer drivers. They have 5.1 all the way to 5.50 I
think.

Im using independantly developed drivers. I think all the drivers are
basically from generic code for several basic chips and then modified
by the firm that retails the card.
