I am trying to network two PCs with XP Pro through a
router connected to broadband internet. Both PCs can
access the internet, but they cannot 'see' each other,
although PC 'A' can ping PC 'B' (but not vice versa). Both
have Client for Micrsoft Networks, File and Printer
Sharing and TCP/IP enabled, and both have shared folders.
Both set to assign IP address automatically. I have run
the Network Setup Wizard on both PCs, but to no avail.

No doubt there is a minor setting I have overlooked, but
I'm stumped as to what it is. Any suggestions most welcome.

Thanks.

Make sure no firewall running on the LAN connation. also posting ipconfig
/all here may help.

I have Zone Alarm (free edition) on both PCs. Isn't is
dangerous to disable it? Or is there a setting I can apply?

Thx

if you have a router, you don't need icf on the lan connection. if you don't
have the router, the icf should be enabled on the nic connect to the
internet.
