when I boot up my PC it detects the CPU fan speed but not the Sys fan
speed...How do I get it to read the speed...I know it is running, but
something is prob. not connected to make it read the speed....
1. Does your computer actually have a system fan? Most computers do
not come equipped with one. The system fan is not the fan inside the
power supply. A system fan is an additional one that is installed
inside the case, usually on the back of the case to blow air out of
the case although sometimes they are installed on the front of the
case to blow air inwards.
2. Even if your computer does have a system fan installed it may not
be properly connected so as to allow the fan speed to be measured. The
first requirement is that the fan must have a 3 wire power connector -
some models only use a 2 wire connector. The third wire transmits the
fan speed information. The second requirement is that the fan must be
connected to a "System fan" connector on the motherboard. Often a
system fan installation is just connected to a spare connector from
the power supply.
Hope this is of some assistance.
Good luck
