PC's Losing Internet Connection

We have a few PCs (3-4) out of 50 that are repeatedly losing their
connection to the internet. I have to keep issuing the commands, "ipconfig
/release" and then "ipconfig /renew". When I do that, the internet
connection is restored.

The DHCP server is on a Win2k server, and there are no viruses on the
affected PCs. There have been no problems with our broadband lines. They
are always up.

Any ideas?

- What are the various IP addresses when you lose connection?
- What happens when you assign fixed addresses?

Resolved the issue. A router being used as a switch, had DHCP turned on.
Turned it off and everything works perfectly.
