PCMIA Flash Card Questions

In order to transfer data from one laptop to another via a flash card,
does there have to be special software installed on both laptops or are
standard flash card drivers included with Windows that are sufficient to
operate the flash card.

If special software installation is required, then can one card +
software be able to work on both laptops? Or would the software sense a
license violation; preventing operation unless the software
installations have different serial numbers?

Basically depends on the version of Win.

Same for using one of those USB devices for moving the data too.

Yes, usually. There is more variation than you might expect
with PCMCIA card slots tho, so that can be a problem.

Thats one area where USB can have some advantages.
