PCMCIA network card not detected after reboot

Hi Folks,
I have installed PCMCIA wireless network card in my XP pro laptop and it
seems to work fine once detected. Problem is that it only gets detected if
hot-plugged. After a reboot of if the system is booted with the card in - it
is not detected and I have to eject it and pop it back in each time ( so
annoying! ). I have tested the card on a different laptop with XP pro and
......no problem!. Any ideas what could be the likely cause?

If someone else doesn't come up with an idea, does "Add hardware" in
control panel kick it off?

Take a look at the card advanced properties and turn off any power
saving mode that might be invoked. The card will have to be working to
do this.

The other possibility is that the correct driver is not being used. You
might try uninstalling the card in Device Manager when it is working,
shut down, remove the card physically, reboot, install the driver again,
then insert the card after the driver is reinstalled.

Q

What do you see in device manager if the card was inserted before reboot:
yellow bang and code 10, or the card is not detected at all?
