I am using a Samsung 7050 Printer on LPT1. I am using an
HP 932c on my USB Port with an IBM Thinkpad Model A22m.
They worked perfectly until I installed Service Pack 4 for
Windows 2000. Now, I cannot print from the Parallel port
to the Samsung Printer. I get a message:
"PCL6 ERROR - ul-len == pstAttQue->uw- . . . . "
VERSION: PCL6 2.14 01-24-2000
I was able to print from a second printer running Windows
ME, using the Samsung 7050 Printer on LPT1, until I
installed the HP 932c on the second computer. Now I get
the same error on the second computer.
There appears to be some kind of conflict in how Windows
2000 (and now ME) manages these two drivers, that kills
the printer driver using the parallel port when the driver
for the USB port is installed.
I have uninstalled and re-installed both printers but I
am not able to restore functionality to the parallel
port. Any help would be useful. I have talked to MS, HP,
IBM, and Samsung. Canned answers, no solutions. HELP!
