PCIe cards seem to be cheaper than AGP. What causes this factor? What PCIe
model is a good gaming card over the AGP 9800XT model I now have.

Thanks

It seems that roughly 9800=X700, bigger numbers are better still. The
X800s seem to becoming reasonably priced.

Intel wants the world to ditch AGP in favor of PCI Express--most of the chip
makers are putting PCI Express interfaces on their chipse instead of AGP
now--to use those same chips in an AGP slot requires an additional
component, called a "bridge chip".

If you're looking to replace your 9800XT with a PCI Express board you're
going to have to replace your motherboard as well unless it's one of the
very, very few with both AGP and PCI Express slots.

Note that PCI Express is different from PCI and the two are not
interchangeable.
