how do i find out weather i have pci bus or pci-e? i wnat a new ghapics card
and the one i want is pci-e but the one i have is pci. any ideas?

I think you've answered your own question. If your current graphics card is
outdated PCI, it's highly unlikely that your mobo is equipped with PCI-E
slots.

You either contact the computer vendor, or go to the motherboard
manufacturer web site..
 
You are using a PCI video card. PCI is not compatible with PCI-e. You need
to check with the motherboard manual, or manufacturer, to see if your
motherboard could take a PCI-e card. Depending on the "age" of the
motherboard, you might not be able to use any PCI-e card. However, you may
still be able to use AGP video cards. These type of video cards are still
available.
