Hi - I must change to PCI-E (from AGP). Need mboard advice. Want to stick
with current Intel 1.6 (overclocked to 2.4) and memory. Also need either
SLI or Crossfire support. Is there an obvious board for me? Thanks.

to run sli properly you will need a total upgrade.
You will probably want to go with an AMD chipset/

Your 1.6 P4 is a 400Mhz fsb which I don't believe is supported by any of the
newer boards with PCIe and SLI support.

What kind of memory? Personally, I don't look at PCI-E mobos that don't
support DDR2.

I believe that Intel SLI boards all use Socket T (LGA 775). I presume that
your CPU is Socket 478 (or even Socket 423). I expect that the SLI boards
also use DDR2 memory; yours would typically be DDR (or even PC133 SDRAM).

Does Crossfire exist for Intel CPUs? I tend to think of it as for Socket 939
(Athlon 64) only.

In fact, if you want SLI (or Crossfire), you may find that it's time to
switch to an Athlon 64. The dual graphics card options are mainly of
interest to gamers, and gamers usually prefer Athlon 64 CPUs.

Address scrambled. Replace nkbob with bobkn.
