having problems with hp deskjet printer (d135), have installed/uninstalled software numerous times.
only problem I can find in DEVICE MANAGER IS A FAULT WITH the PCI simple communication controller, Have uninstalled device, then reinstalled.
still the same yellow exclamation mark.
I don't know if this is my problem with printer. recently upgraded from Win Mem to win 2000. Any advice appreciated..........................................bill
 
I see this problem over and over and over and etc ad nauseum. "I
recently upgraded from xxx to yyy and now it don't work."

Backup your data.
Locate proper drivers for all your hardware.
Format your hard drive.
Install Windows 2000.
Install your applications.
Restore your data.

Very rarely does an upgrade produce lolng-term satisfactory
results.
