PCI 3D Graphics Card - Recommendations?

Hi,

I've just bought a PC with an Athlon 64bit 3400XP processor, 512mb DDR
ram, 200GB HDD - all sounds good so far...

However the graphics card is an integrated "mirage 2" graphics engine
and to be honest is rather poor.

Can anyone recommend a solid PCI 3d Graphics accelerator card? I'm on
a tight low budget but are there any PCI chipsets that 'stand out from
the crowd' that anyone can recommend?

Doesn't the motherboard have an AGP or PCI-Express slot?

Geforce FX5700 is the best you're goiong to get in PCI, if you can find one.
But it's handicapped by the slow bus.

Where did you find an AMD64 machine with no AGP? You aren't using a server
board are you? If so, and if the machine is not a server, you're not going
to be very happy with it.

Athlon-64 wouldn't have a PCI Express slot unless he's got an engineering
sample.
