Hello. I need to replace a friends video card in an old Gateway P-III 600
MHz. The specs for the motherboard mention a single AGP slot at 3.3 volts.
It is listed in these specs:

http://support.gateway.com/s/MOTHERBD/INTEL/4000510/400051002.shtml

Now, when I browse up at NewEgg, there is no real reference to the voltage,
only the AGP 1/2/4 or 4/8. Does this, then, mean the 1/2/4 *is* 3.3 volt
and thus the 4/8 *is* not?

Please advise.

Thanks,

spot on

4/8 is either 1.5v or 0.8V.

1/2/4 is 3.3v or 1.5v

Your mb is probably only agp 1/2 so you do need to be careful, especially
around ATI cards. As the processor is relatively old I would stick with an
nvidia card, probably an old geforce 4 mx card would be sufficient.
