I am currently using PCAnywhere on Win 98 to connect with
my office PC. I'm using cable internet connection. I
have been told that Windows XP Pro would do the same thing
without PCAnywhere. Is this true and where in XP do I do
this?
Thanks!

The Remote Desktop feature is only available with Windows XP Pro.

XP Pro has Remote Connection (inbound and outbound) which makes this
possible.

You didn't say say wher the Win 98 machine was (home or office or both).
If calling into an XP Pro box, you need to install the client software
for Win 98, available from Microsoft. I can't remember the URL, but if
you search their download resources for 'remote desktop' you'll find it.

I use Pc Anywhere to do such a thing as it is more robust then the remote
from XP. A couple of things though you must upgrade to at least 10.5 for it
to work and the quick user switching is disabled when installed in XP. It
will change the login screen back to the 2k classic look.
