Dave

I just bought a new barebones PC and I could not get Windows installed
on it. It kept hanging at random places during the install, but after
I pulled one stick of RAM out I had no problems and even re-installed
just to be sure that I had identified the problem.

I've got the RAM back in the machine now and it booted up the O/S fine
but I am really suspicious about it. Just wondering if anyone has
seen this type of thing and if I can expect it to cause problems in
the future? I'm pretty sure I'll be returning the RAM but I'd just
like to hear what someone with a bit more experience thinks about it.
Is there any acid test for RAM I can download from somewhere?

Oh yeah,

MSI K8N Neo4-F MoBo
2x512 Mb PC3200 DDR

Thanks,
Dave

Burn to a CD.

Do what this guy says download and run MEMTEST-run it with default
settings at least over night-if you get any errors you have a defective
memory stick. If per chance you don't, you probably have a power supply
that's starting to cause problems and that could take a year before it dies.
