PC won't boot

If your computer is hanging on your system Logo Screen you won't be able to
access a bootable CD. Can you access the BIOS? If not you may have a
hardware problem.

It appears that you're hitting the brakes at the Intel logo during POST.
See if you can get into the BIOS and disable the logo under a tab named -? Boot ?- or
similar. If present Disable - Intel Rapid Boost (skips some tests during boot when
enabled) and/or Silent Boot ( Presents the logo when enabled). Pressing F2 just
after booting should, but not necessarily get you into the BIOS setup, different
keys/combos can/are used depending on the machine manufacturer and BIOS.

Once you've made any BIOS changes, saved and rebooted, watch the POST screen to see
that the RAM, Drives, KB/Mouse and any USB are detected. Also take note as to the
approximate exact time the system screeches to a halt.

You also may want to have a peek inside the box to clean out any accumulated dust,
make sure the fans are working properly, all cables/connections/RAM modules and/or
adapters are properly seated.

Is the BIOS set to boot from the CD? I've gotten that error if I have
an unformatted hard drive.
