PC will not recognise IEEE 1394 Fire wire

I am running XP and installed a 3 port PCI card that XP
is supposed to recognise.
I have tried 2 PCI slots and manual install but no driver
is found.My XP updates are up to date. Can anyone suggest
anything else.

You can invoke the Add New Hardware wizard, and instead of trying to
install, choose to select your hardware from a list. Find the 1394
devices section and see if there is a device that matches the Bus Host
Controller in this card. Then manually install it if you can. What
does the vendor say about this?
