Old question, maybe you guys can give me a better solution. I have some
old reruns on my harddrive that my wife wants to watch on tv. I also
have a not so old xtra puter laying around, but it's one of those small
form factor jobs, so adding cards is difficult (and expensive). Can I
use a VGA adapter to hook it up to the TV.? It's got a second RCA video
line in, and an extra set of left and right audio inputs, too.

Well.... You can often put full height cards into these SFF cases.
Sometimes the circuit board will fit, but the metal won't. It's a
matter of creative bending. :) A lot of these have a riser with 1 or 2
full height slots available, so a full height card may work fine..

Yes, you can get a cheepie VGA to RCA cable. You can usually find one
locally. If you want to do it right, you can get a breakout box, or
even a card.

Keep in mind that the TV resolution is much lower than a computer
monitor resolution.

Thanks, Paul

I actually believe that once she sees the quality of the picture,
she'll spring for the DVD's, so in the interest of "thrift" that I'll
go for the cheap adapter. I'm not really worried about sound quality,
either, so an equally cheap audio splitter should work, too, right?

LOL. Do I detect a bit of passive aggressive behavior?

I'm sure one exists. I haven't come across one, though. Not that I've
looked. Check your local stereo store, or small computer shop.
