I voice regularly from New Zealand to anywhere using ICQ, MSN Messenger, and
Yahoo Messenger.
Email me if you want to do any tests.

Does MSN use Internet Explorer? I'm a netscape user. It looks like MSN
only allows 15 second recorded messages to be sent. Is this right? I
would like a program that would be similar to using a telephone in the
sense that you can talk back and forth.

I've downloaded Yahoo and will try it. I'll email you when I am ready to
have a test run.

Thanks

Without doubt, Yahoo! Messenger.

Use Skype (www.skype.com)

It's free and works just great! I discovered it just yesterday and
tried it out with a friend. We were both amazed how clear the speech
quality is.

This is made by the kazaa people and it was spyware. Wouldn't that make
skype a possible spyware program?

Cheers

I've monitored ports and packets while activating and using Skype, and see
nothing unusual. SpybotS&D also finds nothing. Nothing I can find through
searching that indicates Skype contains any spyware, although a lot of
those questions were raised.

((I had the same reaction when I learned Skype was done by the Kazaa
guys.))

Note: XP only last time I checked.

Right, one of the system requirements is

| PC running Windows 2000 or XP

I guess it's also running on NT4 but probably not on Win9x/ME. But
Daphne, the original poster, seems to be using XP anyway.
