PC shutdown problem

I have a PC which won't shut down properly. I always get an 'End Program -
ccApp.exe' box when I try to shut down. After clicking End Now, the PC will
not shut down (the Norton icon disappears from the System tray but nothing
else happens). I have to manually switch it off with the power button.

Is this a Norton problem or has something else caused it? it seems to have
only started happening since a Norton Common Client update recently, I'm
using Norton Internet Security 2005.

Yup. Sounds like another Norton problem.

There have been numerous reports of Norton problems with updates on or
about December 30th.

Personally, I'd dump the whole bloatware package.
