pc restarts when I move the mouse

I know this should be in a vista NG because I am running Vista HP but I am
having terrible trouble trying to shutdown my PC. I can go through the
shutdown process and everything works fine, then when I move my mouse it
fires up again........what do I do to totally shutdown the PC?
 
Then ask in the Vista group. Or ask HP tech support how to disable the
mouse from waking up the PC.

To the OP:

Since you know that *MOVING* the mouse will start the PC
again, just control your urge to *move* the mouse, when the
PC shuts down. Maybe you could close your eyes, and use this
moment for some meditating moments, envision that some wise
MS dude designed the mouse as a "shut-down" device? Or learn
to gently pull away your hand from the pointer. The options
here seems to be endless. :-)
