If it shuts down on you unexpectantly when u play games you might want to
check the CPU temprature during the game. if it gets too hot it will shut
off.

Are you overclocking or have your memory timings up too high?

Name-brand or generic power supply?

Are you running WinXP, and if so, have you disabled the
restart-on-error setting? If not, do so by:

-----------------------
Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties. On the Advanced
tab, click Settings under Startup and Recovery.
Click to clear the Automatically restart check box under System
failure, and then click OK
----------------------

Does the video card have an active (fanned) or passive (fanless)
heatsink? If passive, might it be overheating? If it's possible, try
running system with cover off and a fan pointed at the video GPU.

As others have mentioned, monitor temps... After getting heavily into
a game that often causes a crash, immediately exit that game and check
temps.

Has the system always exhibited this problem, or only recently?
What's changed since it was stable, whether it be internal hardware
changes, OS changes, or environmental changes (like hotter OR colder
ambient temp)?

Are games the only time it restarts? For examle, if you ran CPUBurn
(Google search for it if you don't have it) for over 1/2 hour, does
the system crash? How about running 3Mark2000 loops (I'd expect
3DMark 2001 to be too slow-running to really stress the video card due
to memory sluggishness), would the looping crash the system?

Is your FSB & Memory bus set synchronously (as it usually should be),
or are you running a motherboard known to be stable at async settings?
