Using win 2k prof and I have this problem of pc reboot out of a sudden when I
see the 'live-prices' or' in real time'. I reinstall the latest java but the
problem persist. There is no problem if I just surf the net or at least it
does not happen even after surfing for 1/2 hr but it wll reboot in less than
2 minutes of 'live prices'. Previously, there was no problem.

Even when I uncheck 'auto restart' in the Start and Recovery , it will auto
restart and there is no blue screen which you would expect to see if the
turn-off the auto restart function.
A few days ago, the drive was defrangemnent as my routine clean up.
I do 'Error check' on the partition and there is no problem I re-install
the modem driver and it does not help either. The pc have nav2006, spybot 1.4
and all give a clean health Also do a syslean, there is nothing found eacept
there are many messages that'access is denied'

There was no change of hardware except about 5 days ago, I install the
ethernet card , but there was no proble. I am not using the ethernet card at
the moment even though its still inside the pc.

can someone shed some light as to what could be wrong with my pc.thanks

If no BSOD's occur (Event ID: 1001 Source: Save Dump), then it may be a
power problem. I would look at a possible faulty (or undersized) pc power
supply, UPS, bad battery, or the circuit feeding the outlet that the pc is
plugged into.

I guess this is what you are saying. I clear the Eventlog/System and upon
booting up the pc, it will give 2 errors - source/system control manager
category/none and event/7000.

Then I go to see "live prices", and it shut down almost within minutes. Upon
restart by itself there is an extra entry in the Eventlog/System which is :-
information source/save dump category/none event/1001

The pc get the power from the nulti plug which is connected to the wall
socket. Guess you are more experiencein this as I could not understand how
could the power from the mains be affected when I see 'live prices'. . In the
pc, there is only 1 hdd and I cd rom and I floppy. Anywhere will revert.
Thanks

To be able to see the blue screen stop message; Control
Panel|System|Advanced|Startup and Recovery, I usually like to uncheck
"Automatically reboot" this way you get a chance to read the stop error.
