PC restart problem

Hi
Recently I have upgraded win 98 to win 2000 pro however,
when I activate my HP printer which is connected through
parallel port with scanner Umax Astra 2000p my PC restarts
during printing or during search in the internet any time.
With win 98 there were no problem.
Can you please till me what to do.

Yes, this is true.
Upgrading the OS but not all the device drivers means
your computer is trying to use Win9x drivers on a Win2K
machine.
ALL your hardware needs updated drivers specifically for
Windows 2000. Windows upgrades will supply the USB, and
many motherboard and video drivers.
Peripherals like cameras, scanners, printers, special
drives, special joysticks, etc. all need Win2K drivers
downloaded from the various manufacturer websites.
You might want to check your motherboard website to see
if there are newer "Bus Master" drivers for Win2K.
