Windows XP pc resets

my pc as reset now about 3 times in a week..twice on thursday(yest)once just surfin the net and twice while downloadin,can anyone help thx

When does your PC crash (when gaming for example?), also are there any error messages?

Disable automatic restart (http://pcsupport.about.com/od/tipstricks/ht/disautorestart.htm) as this will present you with an error message you can tell us when it crashes.

You should check whether there are active processes that produce this reset.
Check if you have any message before it is reset.
Could also be a problem of memory in the pc.
