PC reboots playing movies

We have installed several new PC's (50+) at my work with
Win2K SP4 and WMP9 and all have the same problem.

Playing any music file through the WMP9 works perfectly,
including CD's from the CD-ROM drive. However if a user
plays a movie file, WMP9 tries to connect to WMP site I
presume to download the correct movie codec. The user
can usually see this happening for not more than two
seconds. The screen then goes blank and reboots the PC.
We have even re-installed WMP9 separately. We have even
tried it as administrator with the same results. What
else can we do?

First you need to know what codec is needed. Then go download it off the
Internet. Try download media player codecs from www.microsoft.com/downloads
also try the divx codec from www.divx.com
