Ok guys, I have a problem. I just built a system. It seems to be working
fine, except for one thing. Occasionally it will just randomly reboot
itself. There doesn't seem to be a bias towards a time with a high pull on
voltage to a time without, it just randomly will reboot. I do hear a click
and the drives will stop spinning very suddenly when it happens. Not sure
wat I should check but here is the specs.

Amd 2500+ (Barton)
Asus A7n8X
512 MB PC3200 Kingston Ram (1X 512)
Western Digital 160Gb HDD 8MB Cache
Water Cooled W/ Thermal Take Aquarius II Water System
ATI All IN Wonder 9000 Pro
Antec True Blue 350 Watt PSU

I am running Memtest on it, but so far no errors, maybe the PSU? OR the
mobo?
Any help would be greatlyt appreciated, Oh and BTW not sure if this is
relevent but when I load XP onto it, it loads drivers for everything except
something unkown but identified as "USB Reciever".

TIA
Chris

I hate to even mention the obvious things - temp , you didnt mention
that. Maybe too obvious to mention especially since its watercooled.
Virus check?

I hope its not mem since Im still wating for my stick of Kingston,
hopefully this week.

You arent OCing it are you? The 3200 mem and watercooling seem to
suggest that with the Barton 2500. The samething Im doing on my Asus.

Have you tried running it in safemode? Latest Asus bios?

Or if you you have access - another video card, mem stick. I used read
about a lot of people having problems with ATIs and memory in general
a few months ago. Not as much nowadays.

I like to totally strip it down and then swap out parts.
Thats only possible if you have access to other parts though of
course.

Im running the ATI 9800 , with no problems and a stick of Kbyte 32oo
512 mem but its running at 2100 to match my 512 of crucial 2100. Im
waiting for my Barton 2500 and Kingston 512 3200 on a ASUS deluxe
a7n8x with two hard drives maxtors with a 400 watt Antec and a tv
tuner card /fm radio Pinnacle, Sblive, M-Audio music card.

Well as far as temp goes it holds steady at 99 degrees F, Ran a virus check
and nothing. Didn't think there would be because all new components. And
actually has all legit software on it.

Nope, No OC.

Yes, and Yes still same problem, sometimes will reboot while booting into
safemode. Other times when you are just piddling around on the desktop.

I will wait to swap ram until, I get memtest results. Then I might try
taking me Vid card over there.
