A few days ago my PC w/ windows XP prof. edition decided
to up and quit recognizing that there was any internet
connection. IExplorer, Instant Messenger, and Outlook
Express all could not access the internet, although I know
I am connected via Verizon DSL. The little computers in
my programs bar says that I'm connected at 100Mbps and
what not, but it is as if none of my programs that use the
internet can communicate with the net. I AM however, able
to recieve annoying pop-ups when connected, so I know i'm
connected. Also, when "Page not available or unavailable"
pops up on my interent explorer and I try to access
another webpage, my address bar goes crazy and starts
randomly and quickly flying through search pages, unable
to connect to any...I have to halt it with the stop
button. PLEASE HELP. I know I'm set on my internet
connections, I talked with a Verizon rep for 2 hours
yesterday in an attempt to resolve this matter....it seems
the problem lies in the configuring of my pc (4 year old
tangent pentium III, 128megs ram) I've never had a
problem like this in the past, even since i've upgraded to
Windows XP from 98. Any help or insight would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks,
Aaron
