Anyone know if the original build is XP compatible?

I don't know about version 1.0 if that's what you mean, but I use
version 1.1 with XP Pro all the time with no problems.

In mentioning the original build, he may be referring to the new release of
"Startup Cop Pro" mentioned in the current issue of PC Mag.

I wonder if anybody is paying the $15 or $20 for access to the PC Mag
utilities. I sure am not.
 
I'm using version 1.0.1.0 on WinXP Pro and it works fine...

Me neither. Although I use many of them which I acquired when they
were still free.
