PC keeps restarting

I bought a new PC and took a new LAn connection, when i
ran the network setup wizard and after successfull
installation of network setup wizard it asked for a
restart and when i clixcked on OK my PC booted normally
but as soon as i logged in it restarted and kept on
repeating whenever i logged on.
Please help me out i am very much confused presently iam
running my PC on system restore
i have D-Link 538 TX fast ethernet card.

Please help me. will be very thankful for any of your
replies
 
Sounds like you've got the SOBIG virus! Go to
www.symantec.com on another machine and Download the
SOBIG Removal Tool onto a flopy disk. Start your machine
in Safe Mode (F8 at Start-up) then insert and run the
floppy.

Windows XP is set to automatically reboot after some
errors and I suspect that's what's happening here.

Bring the machine up and right-click "My Computer" and
select Properties --> Advanced --> Startup and Recovery --
Settings. Uncheck the box that says "Automatically
restart" and click OK.

What's likely to happen is instead of a reboot you'll get
a STOP error (a bluescreen) but at least we can
troubleshoot that. The bluescreen should tell you what
program or driver is causing the problem and then you can
fix it.
