PC used to freeze occasionally with event 7000 in event viewer. This read as
due to a flatbed scanner USB. I have in recent weeks connected and used my
scanner with this PC for the first time.

I removed all the scanner software, and would have liked to have uninstalled
the scanned from device manager, but it wasn't listed there. Several unnamed
USB devices were listed there so I removed them all.

I have had Medion out twice in the past 18 months to this 18 month old
Medion (Aldi purchased) PC. Al;ways for overheating problems causing
freezes or reboots.

Sometimes in the past 2 days its taken 6-10 restarts and half an hour to get
it running for 5 mins then its crashed again.

I suspect it's overheating, because for me yesterday was the most unpleasant
day of the summer so far, and I suspect my PC agrees with me.

How can I check that the problem is overheating?

I have looked at Everest and seen CPU temps around 70C and fan speeds around
690.

Previously when it was overheating it was hitting 100C with fan speeds a
noisy 2500 revs.

Any advice appreciated.

Overheating can make your system do the craziest things.
They probably installed the cheapest heatsink/fan possible. Try
installing another fan in the case. Video cards can get hot as well.

If I do anything I'll call them out as it's still under warranty. How can I
be sure heat is the problem?
