i recently got my motherboard replaced (same model, just a
new one) and got a new case because the power supply was
faulty etc. I get my machine back and i log into xp and
for some reason, everytime i click or move the mouse or do
anything, the computer freezes for a few seconds and the
monitor goess off and then on. and it keeps doing that
whenever i click/move the mouse or press any keys.

i created a new user account and i dont have the problem
when i log into the new account! i could just change the
new account and make it my default account and go from
there.. but i was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to
why this was happenin and any ideas regarding resolving
it. any help is greatly appreciated.

If you are not having the problem in the new account, it's possible the old
account is having a problem with drivers, either for your graphics card or
other devices.

Check the websites of your device manufacturers, especially but not
exclusively your graphics card to make sure you have the latest drivers.
Also, the drivers in that account might be corrupt and need to be
reinstalled.

Something else to consider, when a motherboard is replaced, even with the
same model, this usually requires a repair install, do you know if the
people who did the service performed a repair install of XP?
