PC-DVD to TV in xp

I am trying to select TV as the output device eiyher on
its own or dual with lcd but whenever I check the tv box
the screeb blanks and reverts to lcd.Can anyone help
please?

The TV must be turned on and the PC rebooted first. Otherwise Windows does
not know there is a tv attached.
