PC cuts out after 35 seconds or so

What do you think...

After fitting a new power supply to my desktop PC, my PC switched on,
then after 30 seconds or so, it cut itself out. I pressed power again
immediatly after, but this time it only lasted for 5 seconds before it
switched itself off. I also removed and replaced the CPU stock cooler
while I was installing the PSU.

What's do you think is wrong?
Thank you

It sounds like the CPU could be overheating . Try cleaning the heatsink and
the top of the processor and replace cooler using something like Arctic
silver heatsink compound. Was the PC doing this before you replaced the
PSU?

You most likely have a thermal fault either in the new PSU or in the
motherboard that is causing the fast shutdown. I would start the diagnosis
by replacing the new PSU with a known working one to see if that solves it.

Most likely:
A. You didn't get the CPU heatsink remounted properly.
B. You got a bad PSU.

The heatsink being FAR more likely from your description.
Take it out, CLEAN it off, put *good* heatsink compound on it (Like
Arctic Silver) and remount it; being careful that all clips are attached
and the heatsink is FLAT on the CPU.

Thanks "Frank". It was not mounted properly.
