Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience - I recently purchased
a copy of Trend Micro's PC-Cillin Internet Security 2005 from NewEgg.com. I
submitted my rebate form, along with all the items specified on the form,
then sent it in before the specified deadline. Several weeks later I
received a notice from TrendMicro stating that the rebate would not be
honored since I failed to provide an original valid UPC. I reviewed my
scanned copy of the rebate form and nowhere does it mention a UPC as a
requirement. NewEgg had shipped the product with the disk and manual in
shrink-wrap anyway, there was no retail box so I'm not sure there ever was a
UPC.

Here is a link to the proper rebate form, unless I missed something there is
no mention of a UPC anywhere ...

Has this happened to anyone else? If so how did the situation resolve? TIA

The proof of purchase tab it refers to has the UPC code. I'd think
NewEgg.com would qualify as an on-line purchase, in which case the UPC
code wouldn't apply. Go back to them and take exception to their decision.

Thanks for your reply. I've since contacted NewEgg, who apparently followed
up on it - the rebate will be honored.
