Pc-chips KT266A SKT A MOBO= Onboard AGPx8/5PCI Slots/Audio=sound/4 USB 2.0/10/100 Ethernet £15.98 inclusive.

Ok the year is up:D

Having built 12 PCs with this MOBO on the 01/02/2005 sold and delivered to their door the customers have never ever complained,;) I telephoned each individual over the last three days.

Not had one single problem, like myself the customers have all been happy with end result.:D "who loves you baby"

So who says Pc-chips MOBO`s are not very good?;)

I think PC Chips got bought out a few years back (ECS was it?), since then I've heard some better things about them but I'm still wary.

Glad to hear they are all going well though :)

No Ian ... ECS are PCChips, they just have two brands of MB ... Exceptionally Crap Systems, err, that is my personal opinion and not that of PCR ... nor is my remark, in any way shape or form, meant as a derogatory reflection on their 'workmanship' at producing MBs.

;)

still wouldn't trust them, although we've rpobably got one in the old packard bell system which has lasted about 7yrs

Nope, you're ok there ... most of their boards were Intel's ... :thumb:

:D

Didn't PB use some sort of MSI boards that you could never find the drivers for on the MSI site?

Remember the PC Chips Socket7 boards with 100mghz bus they bought out which only ran at about 95mghz 'cause they were unstable at 100.

I've used a few PC chips boards and they have improved over the years, (to the point where some of their "high end" boards have a 3 year warranty).
In general they seem to be fine if they are dropped into a machine which is never used for anything more strenuous than internet or word processing and as long as you don't expect top performance then they seem to keep trundling on.
In all honesty I've had more trouble from brands such as GigaByte not lasting the course than I've had with some of the "value" brands I used in the past.
