do u have to add something?

well firstly it depends on which broadband you r going to get will it be ADSL? which runs through the phone line or will u be getting Cable modem, which runs through the television type cable.

with the fist one if you are just going to use a regular modem, u will already have the required usb port to allow you to connect your modem to one of the pc's. USB comes as standard on motherboards!

with the second option cable, im very sure u will need a Network Interface Card which cost abt £5-£6 nowadays, this is very easy to install too.

now u said u had more than one pc, so if you decide to get a wireless network up and running that my friend is a bit different.

Good luck my old mucker.

The motherboard comes with a built in "Network Interface Card" so in effect it is broadband ready - all that is needed is an ADSL modem to plug into it, dont go buying one of these!

Dial up requires a V.92 (latest) 56k modem

I'd say leave this to the customer.

Anyone,

Is it just me or is anyone else having trouble reading/following the grammar/spelling in Belloni's posts?

Belloni, please don't take offense, it's probably just cuz I'm a newbie...

A translation into proper english:

Hello fellow internet goers,

If one has not read my other thread with regards to building a personal computer, please take a look. (Belloni giggles like a schoolgirl) Anyway, i was wondering, once i have put the machine together should i let my customer set up their own connection to the internet, by calling a qualified professional?

If my customer gives me a ring on the telephone, saying that i forgot to put in an internal data calling device one would assume it is my fault and they would be internet free. Do i need to get them anything for an assymetric digital subscriber line connection? Or is the necassary equipment in the PC? (Belloni again giggles like a schoolgirl)

Very nice.... :) And I always thought it was only Americans who butchered the English language!

So.... lol i don't need anything since it comes with motherboard, i wanna make this first customer happy dow ! :) lol I have an ethernet port in my pc, and i think he said he wants one ?! Where do i get it from ?! Or is that in da motherboard aswell ?!

Should know by tomoz wether i can start building or not ! lol He is asking if he dads company can sponser my site too ! :)

P.S can you understand that ?! lol

The ethernet port is the network port, and thats the NIC card... one and the same...

EVERYTHING is on the motherboard - network, sound, USB, Firewire...
