I have four user accounts on the PC. On one account and only one, the PC
will attempt to read the 3.5 drive on startup and with certain programs.
I've looked at the task manager when it does it and can't see anything.
Has anyone seen this type of problem? It does not give an error but it
is disconcerting.

Try clearing Recent Documents. I remember something like this years ago
where a user had opened a Word doc from a flopyp disk and a shortcut
was made in the Recent folder. After that everytime they logged on it
kept trying to access the floppy... at least until I cleared the list
anyway.

Is there a shortcut to it on the Desktop? If so, delete it and see if it
still does it.
