I just put together a new system with an Asus P4C800 motherboard. The
system worked fin for about 3 hours then I had to reboot. On reboot -
I got a "System failed VGA test" message (and of course no display).
Should I return the graphics card or is it some BIOS setting wrong?
Although I've re-set the BIOS and no luck. Also tried a few times at
re-seating the graphics card in the AGP slot.

Faulty graphics card?

Hello,

I had the same problem.
My PC :
p4c800 bios 1008
P4c 2.6 (oc 3.15)
ATI 9800 Pro
2 x 512Mo PC3200 winbond

It worked well during 3 weeks, and now sometime I have this error
message "System failed VGA test"
I tried my CPU, my graphic board and my memories on an other PC, and all
components work fine.
For me the problem was the power supply (before Advance 400W)
I changed it and now everything workq fine.
The best thing is to test your PC with an other power supply.
Good luck and please tell me if you find the solution.

I'm not sure what kind of physical AGP lock the P4C uses (the little white
or brown plastic peice that slides over top of the video card tab), but, if
its the rotating cam type (usually white), they can sometimes push the rear
of the card out ever so slightly causing this problem. I will often pop the
lock out on new systems if its looks sketchy.

yes me too !!!

Mr asus upgrade your Bios for the P4C800 Deluxe !!!!

if i reboot the video card dont start... :((
