george,
Do you have a free HotMail account, that was created after Sept 2001? Free
HotMail accts created after that month, will only be accessible from a web
mail interface. To have them be able to be access from programs like Outlook
or OutlookExpress, you will have to pay a yearly service fee, which upgrades
that account.
If the acct was created before Sept 2001, and kept "active", you should be
able to add the account to your Outlook or OE installation. If the account
becomes "inactive", by Hotmail guidelines, then you might no longer access
that account through Outlook or OE.
If you are using Outlook 2003/2007, there is a new program, that will let
you access your HotMail acct, while using either of these two (2) programs.
