Pausing a timed slide

Hi everyone,
I have a timed paged that I would like to allow the viewer
the option to pause a slide and then continue the show
when they are ready.

I created an action object and attached a macro that would
pause the slide when the user chooses the object.

The action pauses the animations, but ignores the timing
on the page. Is there something I can include in my macro
that would pause the slide's timing as well.

Thank you in advance for any advice you can offer.

On a self-running presentation in Powerpoint 2003, I press the "s" button to pause, as you suggested. Unfortunately, it has no effect. What am I doing wrong

Pressing "s" during a slideshow works for me. So I'm not sure what you are doing wrong.

If you are trying to pause a movie, it doesn't affect it. If your
presentation is set up to run as a KIOSK (Slide Show, Set up show), it also
doesn't work. For all other cases it should work like a champ. Keep in
mind that if you pause your slide show during the middle of a 10 second
animation, when you press the "S" key, it starts back at the beginning of
that 10 seconds (at least that is what I have seen).

Holler back with any specifics and we'll try to assist.

When I tested it.... I was not using kiosk mode. So I guess that's why it worked for me.

I had it to automatically go to the next slide after 10 seconds...and the S worked

Thanks for the answers

My slideshow is "self-running" ie a "kiosk" slideshow. That must be why the "s" button has no effect. Nonetheless, I want the viewers to have some control

I have incorporated on each slide three buttons: Advance to next slide, Return to previous slide, Return to beginning

Sometimes a viewer wants to ponder over a slide more than the allotted time. So I want to incorporate a button that gives him extra time before the show moves on to the next slide. It could be a "pause/continue" button; or it could be a "delay" button (for a specific number of seconds) before the next slide

Desperately awwaiting your help
