pausing a motion path

I would like to create an animation where an object moves along a path,
pauses amd then returns to its first position. This should then repeat until
the end of the slide.

I cannot find a way to do this. Anyone have any ideas?

First, use scribble, freeform or curve motion path. Click Add effect > Motion
Paths > Draw Custom Path > freeform. Draw the path that you want the object
to travel to. Double click twice to end the freeform drawing.

Now, double click on the motion path that has been added. Under the effect
tab, put a checkmark on Auto-reverse.
Click Timing tab. Under Repeat, click on the dropdown menu and set it to
"Until end of slide".

PowerPoint Heaven - The Power to Animate

Hi Shaun
Thanks for this, but not quite what I want.
I would like to move to a point, pause for a predetermined time, then move
on to another point, and keep repeating this path. I suspect In have to
modify the Powerpoint script, but not sure how to do it. I think keytimes
and keysplines is probably the answer, or am I missing something?
Regards
Ted
