Hi termite :-)

I'm sorry but "takes short breaks" is very vague. Please provide a more
detailed description and explain exactly what happens when this problem
occurs, what you are doing at the time (i.e., clicking a link, just
browsing, is the machine idle, etc.), and the exact wording of any error
messages that are associated with the problem.

How often do you initiate 'Disc Clean-up' or 'Disc Defragmenter' ,
available under 'Start' - 'Accessories' - 'System Tools' ?

I would run those programs first, then clean your registry with this little
application... http://www.hoverdesk.net/freeware.htm
The program is called 'RegSeeker' and will utterly clean out your entire
registry of non-essential left-overs that tend to bog down performance.

If that doesn't remedy the problem, at least you'll have a more efficient
running machine until you decipher the true problem.

I would also advise an secondary online virus check, provided here:

Good luck, AL
