I have a 1 hour TV documentary I want to transfer from VHS tape to a DVD.
It has within it a number of TV ads that I want to delete.
I do not want to edit to a second generation VHS tape with a second VCR.
I have 3 TV capture cards - EasyTV, Hauppauge WinTV, and MSI TVAnywhere.
All 3 do not appear to have a "pause" function during transfer from a VCR.
They all provide for Start/Stop which results in a number of video files.
I want to "pause" the record function during the passing of TV ads, letting
the VCR run continuous.
I've tried a number of utilities that purport to remove the ads from the
video file, but they all remove only the video, which results in the audio
out of synch at end of the 1 hour documentary.
Thoughts of others on how to transfer a 1hour TV documentary to disk,
without the ads, would be very much appreciated.
Alternatively, is there a utility out there that will knit together a number
of small video files following a series of Stop/Start at begin/end of the
ads?
