Hello,

I upgraded from '03 and I used to be able to do a fill effects and select
patterns. For example, the horizontal lines, vertical, diagonal lines, dots,
etc.

I can't find where these are if they are in 07 or not?

Any help to find these or somehow import them would be highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Thanks for the link.

I guess that will get me started. Why would they do away with the patterns???

I guess I will have to 'code' the patterns to the colors I would like.

Thanks,

You still can get these effects in Word 2007 and then copy them to PPT (same
for WordArts)

Actually, no. When I wrote it, I figured that'd be the first question
people
would ask. And it was, thanks to you ;-)

All you need to do is edit the current SCHEME colors, specifically the
Background and Text and Lines scheme colors.

??

PPT 2007 doesn't label its scheme colors "background" or "text and lines."
So which scheme colors would you have to change?

I sure hope it's not the text/background dark1/light1 or dark2/light2
colors, because that would suck. I'd think you'd want a couple of accent
colors instead.

It really wouldn't matter. You're not modifying the presentations you're
using
the fills in, you're just mucking about with the pressie you export the
WMFs
from. They stay whatever color you make them in when you use 'em as
fills.

Capisce?

No, sorry, no capisce.
But for all practical purps, it seems you have to export the WMFs from
2003 or
earlier.

Unless you're a zebra.

In that case, it doesn't matter if I capisce or not! :-)

Let's look at it thissaway: the macro doesn't apply a patterned fill to
the
shape you've selected.

It creates its own shape, applies each available patterned fill to it and
exports it to WMF.

From there, you can use it as a picture fill in any presentation, with any
color scheme, theme, palette, paintbox, what, so, ever that you like.

The business of setting the scheme color only applies to the blank
presentation
you start with when MAKING the WMF fill files in the first place. A
disposable
junker.

Ah, yeah, that makes sense. Thanks!
