Paths using UNC Names fail after hardware replacement

We had a server fail and it was replaced with another
server which was given the same name, IP, etc. For some
reason, the shares on the replacement system cannot be
accessed using the normal UNC \\server\share syntax.
Using the IP address \\IPaddress\share DOES work. Did we
miss something? Do the old UNC routes have to be flushed
somehow?

Thanks

Sounds like a name resolution issue. How are you performing name
resolution? DNS, WINS? Is this a Win2k or NT4 domain? Make sure that
NetBIOS over TCPIP is enabled as well.
