Hey Everyone,
I ran Symantec Anti-Virus, v. 8, yesterday. When I was done
and rebooted, none of my apps work. When I click on an icon
I get "path not found" error - even though everything is
still right where it should be. If I open Windows
Explorer and go to the folder itself and click the
executable the same error "path not found". If I put a cd
in and try to run an app directly from that CD, the same
error comes up. Also, if I try to copy from HD to HD, or CD
Drive to HD, I get a read error (I don't remember exactly
what it said and I'm not at the system right now). At one
point I was able to start copying a folder, it went to 40%
or so, then hung.
I have Windows 2000 Pro on a P4 with a gb of mem. I'm not
sure what virus's were found - I had someone reboot the
system when I wasn't there thinking I could just check the
Symantec log, but I can't run SAV.
I know I'll probably have to re-image the C drive and
install W2K again, but I'd like to be able to copy some
files from the C to D drive and, in order to do that I
think I may need some sort of fix for this issue.
Has anyone seen anything like this before?
Any help would be great!
Thanks!
